Cashmere is one of the most exclusive natural fibers, originating from the fine undercoat of the cashmere goat, which lives in the cold mountain regions of places like Kashmir. These exceptional conditions produce a fiber that combines unparalleled softness and natural warmth.
The fibers are collected only once a year, and the production process is meticulous and time-consuming. Several goats are needed for a single garment, contributing to cashmere's rarity and refined character.
Cashmere offers a unique balance of luxury and wearing comfort. It feels light on the skin, retains warmth when needed, and remains breathable at the same time. A timeless choice for those who value quality, elegance, and comfort in every season.

Thermoregulation
Cashmere is renowned for its natural insulating properties, effortlessly retaining warmth and making it exceptionally comfortable in colder conditions.

Naturally Breathable
Cashmere stands out for its natural breathability, stemming from its ultrafine fiber structure. It allows air to circulate freely and subtly wicks away moisture, making the material feel light, dry, and effortlessly comfortable.

Luxurious softness
Cashmere is renowned for its exceptional softness and lightness, feeling particularly pleasant against the skin. This makes it ideally suited for garments worn directly, such as sweaters and t-shirts, where comfort and sophistication luxuriously converge.

Natural Freshness
Cashmere naturally stays fresh longer and requires little maintenance. Thanks to the refined, antibacterial properties of the fibres, odours are subtly neutralised, leaving the material feeling clean, soft and comfortable for a long time.
Cashmere is naturally antibacterial, which helps it stay fresh longer. Airing it out is often enough to refresh the garment.
If you still want to remove unpleasant or musty odors, read the following.
- For subtle odor refreshing, a light mist of lukewarm water and natural vinegar (1:1) can be applied with a spray bottle.
- For one cashmere item, a small amount of approximately 10 ml lukewarm water and 10 ml natural vinegar is usually sufficient.
- Then let the garment rest in the fresh outdoor air in the shade, or in a room with an open window, so that the fibers can naturally recover.
To preserve the exceptional softness and quality of Cashmere, careful cleaning is essential.
Regular washing helps remove invisible stains, maintains the fabric's appearance, and prevents moths from being attracted to protein residues from sweat.
Always follow the washing label. Preferably hand wash cashmere in lukewarm water with a mild wool detergent or a dash of natural vinegar. No wool wash program? Then follow Step 1.5 Wool Hand Wash
- If machine washing is necessary, use the wool wash program: Maximum 30°C and maximum 400 rpm. Always check the settings beforehand and adjust them if necessary. Use only a small amount of wool detergent.
- Preferably wash cashmere separately from other fabrics. Keep clothes with buttons and zippers separate from finer items without fasteners to prevent wear and tear. Cashmere can be washed together with other types of wool.
- Close all zippers and buttons and turn the garment inside out. Put it in a laundry bag and leave it inside out until it is completely dry and ironed.
For extra care, the garment can occasionally be professionally dry-cleaned.
Does your washing machine not have a wool wash program? Then always hand wash Cashmere and wool garments. A regular wash program at 30°C is not the same. A wool wash program gently rocks the drum instead of spinning it, so that the fibers are better protected against stretching and damage.
- Close all zippers and buttons, turn the garment inside out and wash delicate items separately from clothing with fasteners. This prevents wear and tear
- Fill a tub with lukewarm water of maximum 30°C. Add a mild wool detergent according to the instructions, or use natural vinegar: about 15 ml per liter of water (5 liters of water with 75ml of natural vinegar). Do not mix wool detergent and vinegar
- Cold water will shock Cashmere fibers and cause them to shrink; you can carefully reshape them when the garment is damp
- Let the garment soak gently for 5 minutes. Do not rub, twist, or wring
- Then rinse thoroughly with clean, lukewarm water. Gently press out excess water by rolling the garment in a towel and lay the garment flat to dry on a flat surface, so that the shape and fit are preserved
*For extra care, the garment can occasionally be professionally cleaned at a dry cleaner.
- Gently squeeze out excess water by rolling the garment in a towel
- After washing, leave the garment inside out and dry flat (do not hang) to maintain its shape.
Preparation: Always iron the garment inside out.
Temperature: Use the lowest setting (110°C) or a special wool/silk setting.
Points to note: Do not iron prints, embellishments or accessories
Protection: Place a thin, dry or slightly damp cloth between the iron and the fabric to prevent shine and scorch marks.
Technique: Use plenty of steam and move the iron gently. Do not press too hard to avoid flattening the fibers.
Alternative (steaming): Hang the sweater in a steamy bathroom while showering; the steam will remove wrinkles without heat.
Light ironing restores softness and gives the material a refined look.
Store Cashmere Folded
- Cashmere garments are best stored folded rather than hung. Due to the weight of the fabric, the garment can stretch when hung, causing the shoulders and fit to deform over time.
Storing it folded helps maintain the natural structure of the fibers and prevents unwanted tension in the material. This contributes to preserving the garment's shape, appearance, and longevity.
Removing Crease Lines
- If crease lines are visible in the garment, you can easily remove them by ironing the garment inside out on the lowest setting, a maximum of 110°C. See Step 3
By storing it with care, your cashmere will retain its refined character and comfort for a long time.
At Issu & Lloyd, we pay close attention to limiting pilling by working with high-quality yarns, careful production, and refined finishing.
Even with high-quality materials, pilling and slight fuzzing can occur due to friction during wear. Therefore, avoid contact as much as possible with rough surfaces, such as belts, bags, and coarse materials.
If pilling still occurs, gently remove it with a fabric shaver or wool comb.
This way, the garment will easily regain its neat appearance.
P.S. Do not use a razor blade to remove lint. This can pull out or damage fibers, potentially causing a hole in the garment more quickly.
At Issu & Lloyd, we believe that sophistication remains visible in every detail.
- Always follow the wash care label
- Wash delicate items such as wool, cashmere, knitwear, and silk inside out and separately from clothing with zippers, buttons, or hard elements.
- Use a delicate or wool wash program with a mild, liquid (wool) detergent.
- Avoid the dryer. Allow clothing to dry naturally to preserve the fibers, shape, and quality.
Conscious care also helps while wearing the garment. Avoid contact with rough surfaces such as belts, bags, and coarse materials. This will keep your garment looking good for longer.
